I just got back from RollerCon—that magical, chaotic, sweaty wonderland where roller derby folks from around the world gather in Las Vegas to skate, laugh, learn, and, yes… shop for books.

It’s not every day I get to combine my love of storytelling and roller derby in the same room, but I did just that. I had a table at RollerCon (Roller Derby Conference), where I got to chat with derby fans and readers, sell books, and meet some incredible fellow author-athletes.

Do you like to pack a lot into a conference? Consider that RollerCon has themed games, on skate classes, off skate classes, and parties. Crunch all of that into just three days with the need to do ALL THE THINGS.

This year I put a table together of roller derby authors and sold books, as well as tried to do ALL THE THINGS at RollerCon. I didn’t make it to classes though. At fifty-seven I still get a lot done, but there was just too much to do. But with the help of another author, I was able to go to my games, do some shopping to buy new roller skates, and take breaks.

So of course my legs were sore, my voice a little scratchy, but my heart was full.

Here’s me in my element: skates on in the silliest game at RollerCon.
