Writing your first novel can be daunting, but I have a suggestion. Check out National Novel Writing Month! Every November that organization supports you in the endeavor of writing fifty thousand words.
It’s like a brain sprint for a month, pouring out all those ideas and stuff onto the page in thirty days. You also find that amazing things happen when you write the same story for thirty days in a row.
To hear more about NaNoWriMo, you can check out my interview with KRQE here (I’m a liaison for NaNoWriMo), or check out the website.
That’s how I get my novels written. In fact, Toy of the Gods was written during NaNoWriMo several years ago. It was pretty ugly back then, but I spent a couple of years making it better. So much so, it got a five star review from an independent review company!
So, get out there and write yours. It’s time.
