Ready for some cool volcano videos?
The forty minute drive to the Fagradalsfjall volcano is stunning. Hints of coastline, lots of green. You can’t see the volcano from the road because there’s a ridge of hills in the way. But, over that ridge, there are some amazing views as you can see from these videos.
I could have sat and watched the lava flow all day!
First volcano video
This is right after I climbed up trail B to get a view of the valley around the caldera filled with crusty black lava rock with a few hot spots. There were helicopters around for the peeps who got to fly in, there were also aircraft overhead.
Second video of the volcano videos
This volcano video is after I reach the lava flow. the wind was blowing hard, so you can’t really hear what I’m saying. Mostly I was just really awed. The bright orange spots are where the lava is more insulated, hotter, and flowing really fast.
Third Volcano Video
This was one of my favorite views along the way.
Fourth volcano video
Another view as the cloud covers the sun and makes that volcano flow glow!
Final of the Volcano Videos – Taken with my Cannon
I got as close as I could here – the heat coming off the lava was intense. You can hear the sound of the lava – like thick butter on a hot skillet.
