Today was zip lining in Monteverde!
A good start to the day
A coati at Selvatura Park |
We slept soundly to the constant rush of the wind. I felt comfy and warm and it was awesome. And breakfast here at Cabinas Eddy is tasty, and add-ons are very inexpensive. So far, everywhere we’ve gone in Costa Rica we’ve found great fresh fruit and/or fresh fruit juice. It’s making me feel so healthy!
Be in the Know: We were able to organize our day trips like zip lining, or night excursion in the rainforest, etc. through our hotel, and everything included transportation. A big plus when you don’t have a car.
Zip Lining in Monteverde
And, I’m off! |
How can I explain zip lining? Imagine skiing downhill at top speed, except it’s not cold, and you don’t have to worry about falling face first, not that I’ve ever done that. At the Selvatura Park, Rebecca and I tore through 13 amazing zip lines, then the Tarzan swing, kind of like a miniature bungee.
We loved it so much that Rebecca is trying to talk me into going bungee jumping tomorrow. Maybe. We have until tomorrow morning to sign up for tomorrow’s bungee, so we’ll see.
Also at Selvatura Park are canopy bridges. Rebecca and I walked around scouting for wildlife. We ran across a family and the Dad pointed out a howler monkey quietly sitting high above us. It’s white balls hanging low. Not exactly the kind of monkey experience I was looking for.
I really wanted to find a fantastic bug, but this was it so far |
We had to rush back to base to catch our ride, and then it was time for us to find a coffee shop. We found a great one where we tried traditional Costa Rican coffee and some delicious cheesecake.
Hmmm, to bungee or not to bungee?
