Sonja Dewing is an award-winning author, speaker, and founder of the Women’s Thriller Writers Association. A finalist for the Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award, winner of numerous short story awards, and awarded Top Author from New Mexico Entertainment, she writes thrillers and adventures featuring gutsy, determined characters who never back down from a challenge.
A solo traveler who has explored everywhere from Iceland to Peru, Sonja infuses her work with the spirit of discovery, drawing on adventures like hiking the Appalachian Trail and flying search-and-rescue missions with the Civil Air Patrol. She’s also the creator of the award-winning podcast The Five Minute Author, teaches at the University of New Mexico, and is a proud member/player of Elevated Roller Derby (as “Author of Pain”). She’s also been featured on KOAT as well as at events such as Pikes Peak Writers, Killer Nashville, and One Million Cups Albuquerque.
When she’s not writing, Sonja helps authors grow their craft through workshops, memberships, and short story publishing events. Most importantly, she loves her super mutt, Bo, and drinks coffee like there’s no tomorrow.
